Independent Professional Services is a family owned business. The company has been run by its present owner, Gerald Newlon, for over 27 years. His sons, Gregory and Geoffrey Newlon now assist him in the business. Gregory has been assisting for 17 years, while Geoffrey has been assisting for 12 years.

Independent Professional Services was originally a mortuary transportation service that was purchased in 1982. I.P.S. provided transportation services the Utah State Medical Examiner for 28 years. In 1987, I.P.S. expanded and moved into its newly built Funeral Home on Redwood Road and began offering cremation and funeral services. Today, our company continues to provide cremation and funeral services for families who have lost their loved one.

Specializing in direct cremation and simple funeral services, we offer an affordable alternative to expensive funeral costs. Our staff helps with all of the cremation and funeral planning needs: consultation with family and clergy, preparation and filing of all necessary notices, plus body transportation and preparation.
